Volunteer Opportunities

Participate in our hands-on programs by:
  • Assist with member mailings, brochures, and flyers
  • Organize educational materials for the traveling treasure chest programs
  • Recruit speakers for our monthly public lectures
Invest your time in archive collection maintenance through:
  • Accessioning historic artifacts into the permanent collection
  • Inventorying small collection subsets like the Marietta Times news articles or obituaries
  • Entering collections data information into collection software system
  • Take photos at our events and keep our photo scrapbooks up-to-date.
  • Accessioning historic photos into the permanent collection
Assist researchers at the archives by:
  • Researching genealogical, land use, community history questions
  • Greeting visitors and giving short orientations of our facility
Share in the fun at our special events and programs by:
  • Assisting with setup and teardown at annual events
  • Take photos at our events and keep our photo scrapbooks up-to-date.
  • Acquiring donations of silent auction items for the annual dinner
  • Working at annual special events, greeting visitors and answering questions

The Henry Fearing House Museum would also welcome anyone interested in becoming a volunteer docent and the Anchorage is always in need of volunteers who can paint, stain, do restoration work or have materials to donate towards our ongoing restoration project.
